Securing usage to ensure wide access
to analgesic medications
Analgesics are the drugs most commonly used by the French people every year and 12 million of them are treated with opioid painkillers..
It is urgent to take action to ensure the proper use of these drugs, particularly opioids (codeine, morphine, etc.), which can lead to dependence.
The creation of the French Observatory of Analgesic Drugs (OFMA)
Next steps
Through the OFMA, our objective is multi-faceted, since we now want to:
Pursue the creation of a barometer of usage and complications of analgesics
Develop new monitoring tools
Build a sustainable health monitoring system
Implement permanent training and information activities
