The ANALGESIA Institute, the first research foundation dedicated to innovation against pain, based in Clermont-Fd, now includes the EDF foundation as a new sponsor.
This support is specifically targeted at the eDOL project, developed by the ANALGESIA Institute, which aims to accompany chronic pain patients on a daily basis.
Nowadays, chronic pain affects about 20% of adults and up to 50% of the elderly. Because it has a profound impact on quality of life, this disease is a major source of handicap for millions of patients in France and around the world.
The eDOL project was born from the ANALGESIA Institute's willingness to respond to this challenge thanks to e-health. This unique program is dedicated to the evaluation and management of chronic pain. It involves the use of a mobile application for chronic pain patients and an internet platform for carers to better analyse the pain complaint and optimise patient care.
The EDF Foundation's financial support of €150,000, combined with a skills sponsorship from EDF's R&D department, matches the project's ambition since it will enable a nationwide clinical study to be carried out.
At a press conference held on the 8th of March, 2019 in Clermont-Ferrand:
A huge thank you to EDF for this great support to the eDOL project!
